Jonsereds XD Super Vintage Chainsaw Ultra Rare, Runs
If you're not familiar with the Jonsereds XD's, you start them with the gas cap facing upwards, and then you flip it over to cut. That's why some folks think the chain is on backwards when looking at the saw in starting position. These saws were not imported into the U.
And I have not seen any blue XD Supers in the U. This color scheme is quite rare; the non-Super XD's were medium red, and the XD Supers were also produced in a dark red. This particular saw is just about as good as they get -- it's complete, it has spark and fantastic compression at 165 psi, and it runs on a prime (when fuel is dribbled into the injector). The only notable flaw is the guard that surrounds the sprocket is cracked in one area.
This is common to just about all of these saws. As you can see from the photos, the saw has been lightly used. It has light wear, the vast majority of the original paint is present, and no parts are missing.
If you're going to use it, there's no need to worry about breaking something and not being able to find a replacement, either -- I have an pretty good collection of spare parts. Also, you'll see that the felling dog/spike isn't on the saw in all the pictures; my mistake. I bought this saw from a collector in northern Sweden years ago. I'd love to keep it, but I'm paring down my collection to focus on vintage Stihl Contra, Lightning, and 090's. I have done my best to describe the saw.
