Ultra Rare 1963 Vintage Epiphone Olympic Electric Guitar Excellent Condition

  

The three on a side tuners are the original Klusons and the headstock profile is much more like Gibson. Prior to 1963 the Olympic model was the same as the thinner Gibson melody maker. This example was only made for one year. This feather weight one piece slab of solid Honduran mahogany weighs in at a mere 5 lbs on the bathroom scale and the 1 3/8 thick body thickness makes for a real tone monster. The one piece solid mahogany neck has a has a profile to die for. 1 3/4 wide at the nut with the original medium gauge frets make it a joy to play. No visible fret wear or pits. Please note : No alterations were made to routing or the original pickguard. Tone Pro bridge posts have also been installed that look the same as the originals. The bridge itself is original. This improves sustain as well as intonation. The original versions of these bridges were notorious for tilting at an angle on the posts and a sloppy fit. The original posts are included and can easily be reinstalled if desired. All work is totally reversible. These mods make this guitar scream with the power and sustain of a P 90 with far less weight than an early Les Paul Jr. And much cooler than a Melody Maker in my opinion. All said, this is a very clean example of an extremely rare bird with no breaks, cracks , finish touch up or repairs. Looks amazing for a 57 year old with very little wear. A perfect fit Epiphone hard shell case is also included and is in great shape.
