ULTRA RARE NOS NIB Vintage Fender 12F Speaker Electro Voice EV EVM 12L JBL D120

  

Grab it while it is still available. It was specially designed for electric guitar by EV and Fender, spec'd at 123dB (more than any other guitar speaker available) for maximum volume, headroom, and clarity.

Doing an extended search will reveal that finding a single one is extremely difficult. Finding a mint one is even harder... And this one is very likely the only NEW IN BOX, NEW OLD STOCK, never mounted or used one that anyone will probably ever see again. Electro-Voice used a unique aluminum dome similar to JBL domes, but they have their own look, shape, and sound, with more highs. Both the cone and dome are in PERFECT condition. There is some natural discoloration spots on the almost 40 year old cone, but that is expected of any paper cone of this vintage. It is dust free since it had been unopened for its entire life and was only opened for testing with the wire clips. There are no dents, creases, or rust spots on the dome and there are no rips tears or holes on the cone. They are both perfect as they came from the factory. Most of the Fender 12F out there have developed small dents and rust on the aluminum dome from use or accidents, so this speaker is an exception since it has been ideally preserved. It is also a very early production number. It says says "020" (20th week of 1980) on the date code and is the earliest of all the ones I've seen. The only others I have seen were from a few weeks later, and all of them were also made in 1980. It will be very carefully packed and insured for full value. Some info and history about the Fender 12F. The Fender 12F is inaccurately often referred to as an EV EVM 12L with a JBL type aluminum dome. In actuality, Fender 12F speakers are all EVM 12S speakers with a JBL style dome, NOT EVM 12L speakers with the JBL dome. All Fender 12F speakers had the shallower EVM 12S frame with the shallow 70586 EVM12S cone. EVM 12L speakers had a larger, taller frame and came with the deeper 79195 cone. The Fender 12F was a special order speaker in the early 1980's during the Fender/Rivera amp period. JBL's were no longer being made and this is the speaker Electro-Voice offered to Fender to emulate the famous JBL D-120/K-120/E-120 speakers.
