Vintage Omega Speedmaster 2915-2 Movement Cal. An exceedingly rare very early Omega Speedmaster movement from 1958/9. The movements serial number isn't just in the correct range but also comes with proof of not just other 2915-2 movements around this number but one with the very next number (one digit). Now that's all very well but the other parts are very hard to obtain. Probably the hardest being the caseback?
I have seen a couple of Silver Base 1000 bezels for sale. Not cheap but they are around. This is not a project for the faint hearted. It may take years of hunting and good contacts. I've owned this for a year or two and initially thought of various ways of utilising it so it didn't just sit in the safe!
Mad dogs and Englishmen' springs to mind at this point but with other commitments and the quick acquisition of a couple of'60's Speedmasters at the same time, my project never moved forward. I would have done'option 2'! This is a genuine sale for a very rare original movement. Not like the one I saw sell recently with the wrong clutch bridge etc (not symmetrical).
