Hastings Chess Congress Antique/Vintage Chess Set with Box ULTRA RARE

The Historic chess set was used in the oldest chess tournament of the world, The Hastings Chess Congress which takes place in England, almost all world chess champions played in this tournament, Capablanca, Karpov, Mikhail Tal, Botvinnik, Spassky, no other chess tournament has such a long and rich history! Unique set characterized by the King having a spherical finial similar to the Dubrovnik set and glass eyes Knights. The chess set is in great condition for its age. No cracks or hairline cracks on the wood. Complete set of 32 pieces made of wood. King is 4 inches tall. Some green stains in some pieces, probably from the green felt. White queen has some slight leaning. Black pieces have some paint and varnish peeling, not chipping on the wood. Please see pictures for condition. All felts and weights present, felts in fair to good shape, some wear in some felts. Pieces are nicely weighted, total weight of the pieces without the box is 2 pounds and 6 oz. Wooden Box is in good condition, large box 9x7x4 inches approximately, there is odor inside the box, like varnish. Scratches and some dings, overall in nice shape for its age.
