Longines Vintage Gold Guilloche Dial Automatic 1958 Calatrava Watch, Ultra Rare
Longines 10 karat white gold. Filled gentleman's Automatic Calatrava watch. In great overall condition and dating to Circa 1958. It has a beautiful engineered guilloche swirled dial which looks stunning. The white gold indices against the warmer unique gold guilloche swirl dial give this watch a depth that only a guilloche dial can give, coupled to a classic small seconds at 6 o'clock to finish this handsome piece. A good size at 33 mm across, 34 mm with crown and a long lug to lug of 38 mm and depth 8mm, 11mm with crystal. It has an all dial case design which gives a good wrist presence. The reason that this is such a rare piece is the similar ones produced by Longines were all manual wind 23 Z calibre's. As you can see this particular one has Automatic applied on the dial and few were made of this model in a Automatic variant. The longines automatic 19A calibre is running with a strong amplitude no beat error on the timegrapher and clean movement. The caseback shows a service in 2019. I know you will be very hard pressed to find another of these models especially in the Automatic version and this condition. Its a classy watch with real style to it and a value that will only increase due to scarcity. There is nothing that needs doing to this watch apart from wearing and enjoying. This makes even the slightest imperfections and specks of dust appear much more prominent then they are and are often not visible to the naked eye or without camera magnification.
