Rare ZANGI MASCOTTE ultra light spinning reel, made in Italy
Now upon advice of a fellow collector with improved decal, showing the raised lettering in its natural aluminum finish. I have made some new pics showing its condition. This reel is identical to the COPTES / ZANGI produced PELICAN 50 and ORVIS 50 spin reels. They were made in Italy in the 60's and 70's of the 20th century and intended for ultra light spin fishing. These are extremely well made reels that compare favourably with the less rare ALCEDO and CARGEM UL spinning reels that were made in the same era. You will not come across this particular model very often, especially in this fine near excellent condition. Other than some hardly visible tiny scuffs on the body there is only some wear from use on the reelfoot (yes, it was fished, see pics). Otherwise it has great cosmetics. It runs very smoothly and is in full operating condition, as if it just left the store. As stated before, it is a piece not often seen. So, why not take a chance to ad this rare piece of Italian angling history to your collection or even better take it to your favourite stream. You will not be dissapointed.
