ULTRA RARE FIRST Vintage Barbie #856 Gift Set COMPLETE with #4 Barbie
Up for your consideration is an ULTRA RARE AND COMPLETE First #860 Vintage Barbie Gift Set. A stunning #4 Ponytail Barbie with soft poodle bangs - no green ear - no neck splits - I have added pearl safety earrings but her gold hoops are included. A R round 2 piece pedestal stand. The 3 dresses on the left still have the original cardboard bust inserts - the one for the Plantation Belle dress is missing. The B/W label clothing is in excellent condition however the Suburban dress needs washing as does the Plantation Belle dress as they are dingy from storage and the Silken Flame dress has a spot on the front - all of the dresses are easily replaced if you want mint dresses - no rips or seam splits. The Suburban hat is still on its original cardboard form. First Barbie Pink booklet is in fair condition - has some gouges. Black and pink OT JAPAN shoes - NO SPLITS. Graduated pearl necklace is outstanding.
White bra and panties - I have also included the blue bra and panties as it varied in these sets - all in good to VG to EXC condition. Still has the original plastic covers on both side and they are brittle - the left has come undone - the right is still attached at the bottom of the box. The outside of the box is dirty and has gouges on the top - and has pencil writing and the colour is somewhat faded - but the sides are NOT split. The inside liner that holds Barbie is a REPLACEMENT - outside carboard form is original and attached.
ALL IN ALL a stunning and rare addition to anyone's collection. I found this information on the internet under Vintage Barbie Gift sets. This hard to find and very first gift set includes a #3 or #4 Ponytail Barbie doll dressed in her black and white striped swim-suit, pearl earrings (or gold hoop earrings), with black open toe heels and sunglasses. The set included a black wire stand (or black pedestal stand) and 5 outfits; #911 Golden Girl (dress and graduated pearl necklace only), #966 Plantation Bell (dress, underskirt, and pale pink shoes only) #969 Suburban Shopper (dress, and hat only) & #977 Silken Flame (dress, gold belt and gold clutch purse). #919 undergarments (white bra and white panties).The set also comes with the 1960 pink Barbie booklet with only Barbie on the front. Note: this set has also been found with blue bra and panties and not the white. Comes from a pet friendly home but I try and keep my cat away from my collection.
