In addition to loosing value as the original work of the photographer, Irving Klaw copynegs are usually of significantly lower quality due to the technology used. Quick tip: Irving Klaw studio inventory numbers (typically model's name or initials followed by 1-3 digit number) were written on the negative by hand using ink pen. If the number appears to be part of the image - you are dealing with a copy negative. The film itself, higher contrast, loss of detail throughout entire image - can also be signs of possible copyneg but are less apparent to someone without darkroom experience.
