Vintage 1937 SUPER RARE SHURE 701A ULTRA Microphone-Working withstand
Offering a S U P ER - R A R E SHURE BROTHERS 701A (85A) ULTRA MICROPHONE. One of the earliest of the Shure Company microphones, the Chicago-based company released this model in 1937 (see ad on the last photo). These were originally outfitted with a salt crystal element, but the great majority of them never lasted through the decades, as was the case with this one. Has also been rewired with brand new shielded mic cable with a male XLR plug, and produces very strong audio output. Physically, the metal cage is in good shape, no pitting on the chrome band or dents in the wire cage, and the threads are perfect to interface the mic any standard 5/8-27 thread stand.
