VINTAGE 1960s CHRISTIAN DIOR GYPSY AVANT GARDE SUNGLASSES ULTRA RARE TURA 12K GF

  

Vintage Christian Dior Avant Garde "Gypsy" sunglasses. Marked "Christian Dior" on the back of black enamel frames. Marked with the name and "12 GF" (gold fill) on earpiece. The next to last listing photo shows a page from Christian Dior's 1962 catalog. That features the Avant Garde sunglasses, along with matching jewelry! No catalog or accessories included with the sunglasses. The base frame is the same as their Gypsy style with the addition of the. Curled piece on the nose bridge for their Avant Garde style. Made by "Tura" for Christian Dior (not marked Tura). Sunglasses are in overall very good, almost near excellent, condition for being just short of 60 years old!

Missing a few of the small rhinestones and one of the small screws that hold the front to the wire frame. Both can easily be replaced by any jeweler and/or optometrist. Light finish wear on frames; soft rubs/scratches on gold fill as might be expected.
