When I was a jeweler this was one of my personal watches, it keeps accurate time and calculates correctly, NEW battery installed (8/2020). Small scratches on crystal, but it is 38 years old! Last picture shows the calculator function under the time all digits work, night light not working. The pace of digital technology advancements in the 1970's was truly astounding. From the very digital wristwatch in 1972 which displayed only the time, it was just 5 years until multi- function digital calculator watches were released.
To this day the 49-9315 remains one of the most unique and stylish calculator watches. The calculator features addition, subtraction, multiplication and division using floating point arithmetic along with a square root function and memory recall. It also contains a light, though it's not very bright.
The Citizen calculator watch is one of the few calculator watches with a round face and buttons arranged around the perimeter. This was the second of three generations of such watches from Citizen, the first was the Caliber 9090 (or909), 59-2021.
Calculator watches were the hot new item for a short period in history from early 1976 to 1978. The 9315 calculator watch was, in many ways, Citizen's best calculator watch and remains an excellent watch by today's standards. It has a very readable display, easy to press buttons and stylish design.

This model is ultra rare model among of all LCD watches. It is in excellent condition, working with new battery and rubber strap (not original). I have been a jeweler for 40 years and was one of the first Jewelers in Los Angeles to carry the full line of Citizen Watches, this was my personal watch. Crystal shows some scratches but in perfect working order and new battery, however light function does not works. Also because I was lazy, I used a ball point pen to access the top buttons instead of a stylist pointer but the buttons can be cleaned.
