Ludwig pointed corner blue and olive badge with serial numbers 1902176. Ludwig produced these stainless steel drums in relatively few numbers and in various configurations beginning in 1976. These stainless steel drums were expensive to produce and Ludwig eventually ceased production in the early 1980s. I believe that a relative handful of these vintage 18 inch drums were made with very few remaining, and even less in this remarkable original condition. They were played and made famous by many professional touring drummers in the 1970s including the great John Bonham of Led Zeppelin. Most of these vintage stainless steel drums are in relatively rough shape with extensive dents and scratches on the stainless finish and missing parts. B/O badge and grommet in excellent condition, no color fade or bends, no loose parts. This drum is in super clean original condition. The stainless steel shell is brilliant and free from scratches and any significant rust or pitting. All lugs, tension rods, hoops, legs/leg mounts, and internal muffler and muffler control dial are original and in excellent condition. Original rubber feet on all legs. Evans clear blue hydraulic head batter head, original Ludwig coated resonate head. The drum tunes up nicely, holds its tune and delivers amazing low-end punch. Sounds like a bass guitar! Very hard to find a vintage Ludwig stainless steel drum in this super clean and original condition.
